WHAT IS MIDJOURNEY?
Midjourney is nothing more than a tool derived from Artificial Intelligence that can create images based on textual indications provided to it. That’s why, at a graphic and visual level, if used correctly, it can be extremely useful. So useful that, as reported by Wired magazine, it has even been used by a scientific publication to produce images relevant to its article (sparking a lot of debate).
HOW TO USE MIDJOURNEY?
Once you enter the Midjourney.com site and provide the required access, to use it, you just need to access one of the Newbies on the left column and click in the Midjourney text box. At that point, you will need to type “/imagine” in the text box. This should be followed by a description in English of the image to be created. For example, “/imagine snow-capped mountains and glassy lakes” would be the correct phrase if we wanted an image of snowy mountains and crystal-clear lakes. Specifically, Midjourney will always provide us with four images of what we have requested, from which we can choose the best one.
HOW TO MODIFY THE GENERATED IMAGES?
Once the four images proposed by Midjourney have been received after our description, it will be possible to make changes to them. By right-clicking on one of the four images, a series of options to modify it will appear. Or, below the grid, there are 4 U buttons and 4 V buttons (numbered and each corresponding to the 4 images). The former will allow you to enlarge the respective image, while the latter will allow you to slightly modify the reference image.
ART AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Midjourney is also a useful tool for designers or art lovers. In fact, by providing the right input, it is possible to ask it to recreate drawings in the style of a specific artist. By adding to our prompt (input) a string like “in the style of (artist’s name)”, it will provide us with an image that looks like it was made by the artist himself. The tool therefore allows the recreation of paintings that never existed by past or contemporary artists. Even for those who want to experiment with art, Midjourney can be a very stimulating and fun tool.
HOW TO ACCESS MIDJOURNEY? IS IT A FREE TOOL?
The fastest way to access Midjourney is, as mentioned in one of the first paragraphs, to go directly to the Midjourney.com site, access the Beta version, and provide your email. It is also possible to take advantage of a trial period of the tool. However, if you want to use Midjourney without limits, you will need to subscribe to a paid pro plan that provides advanced features.
